First Commercial 3D Printed Casts Launching with Orthopaedic Specialty Group in Fairfield County, Connecticut.

Biomedical startup, ActivArmorTM, is partnering with Orthopaedic Specialty Group ( in Fairfield County, Connecticut as the first clinic to offer their innovative 3D printed casts in the Northeastern US.  With years of field-testing completed on the high-tech waterproof, hygienic, breathable cast/splinting alternative, the startup company has recently expanded outside the state of Colorado to California, Illinois, Arizona, and is now partnering with Orthopaedic Specialty Group, the largest and most experienced orthopaedic practice in Southern Connecticut.

ActivArmorTM orthoses are being prescribed for injuries like breaks, sprains, and Carpal Tunnel Syndrome, through Parkview Regional Medical Center, Centura Health, HealthFit Family Medicine, CompletePT, Quincy Medical Group, Fitzmaurice Hand Institute, and will be launching at Orthopaedic Specialty Group in February.  The next-gen casts are completely custom – precisely fitting to each patient using a 3D body scan, and designed per their doctor’s prescription, including the ability to expose post-surgical hardware or incisions, and adaptable for use with ultrasound and other advanced technologies.
