"Hi there, just wanted to share my son's story so far. He's 5.5yrs and walked on his toes from a toddler, no physical issues that caused this, he can walk flat footed if he concentrates which lasts all of 5 seconds. After 2 years of stretches and 1000s of dollars on appointments, my son's toe walking continued without improvement. Being a little kid made stretching daily at times an infuriating and difficult chore (no matter how fun I tried to make it or rewards etc) and even though it helped his muscles it did not correct the walking at all. His sensory issues made fibreglass serial casting (without sounding dramatic) quite the traumatic experience to say the least. We only made one round - and boy, the blisters were disgusting too! I was at my wits end. We were both so deflated and fed up. Then I found Removable Casting!!! ActivArmor is a game changer for us. It's hygienic, breathable, water proof, doesn't cause blisters, personalised/moulded to shape of child's feet/legs. If stressed or uncomfortable (especially with sensory sensitivities) you can just adjust them, or take them off! My son thought it was so cool it was made in a 3D printer and he could choose his colours. ONE item for both serial casting and night braces/splints. So that's ONE cost for the entire treatment! And don't have to go back weekly appointments to get fresh casting on (time consuming, disruptive to work and school routines, as well as expensive) or have to have weeks off to let blisters heal which delays the treatment plan. My son is currently using them at night and the casts being breathable really helps in the heat of hot Aussie Summer's nights. What a HUGE difference this casting will make to kids with autism, sensory issues and sensitivities , and disabilities.. Having casts that can be removed or re adjusted , when kids are stressed , uncomfortable, etc is AMAZING!!! And as a parent, you dont feel so helpless and infuriated ! 🇦🇺 Australia currently only has one ActivArmor supplier - I highly recommend this wonderful Physiotherapist, Bill, at Southern Sports Physio in Engadine, N.S.W. (02)95204953. We drove 7hrs to get to him and it was well worth it! He's amazing, and ActivArmor is amazing! 🏆 Hope this post helps some of your kiddos!"
