Featured Provider – Dr. Kevin Kaplan

Dr. Kevin Kaplan, a native of Jacksonville, Florida was named the head team physician for the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2013, the youngest physician to assume this role in the history of the NFL.

He served as an assistant for the Jaguars from 2009-2012. He also serves as team physician for multiple semi professional, collegiate and high school teams in the local community.

Dr. Kaplan graduated summa cum laude with honors and Phi Beta Kappa from Tulane University in 1999. He then graduated among the top students at New York University, being named to the Alpha Omega Alpha honor society before completing a residency at NYU Hospital for Joint Diseases where he was chosen as an Executive Chief Resident to lead a group of 60 peers because of his leadership, organization, and knowledge.

He completed a fellowship at the renowned Kerlan Jobe Orthopaedic Clinic learning from the leaders in sports medicine and arthroscopy while assisting in the care of the Los Angeles Lakers, Dodgers, Kings and Anaheim Ducks. Dr. Kaplan’s rotator cuff research at Kerlan Jobe earned him the fellowship award in 2009. He has published numerous articles in peer reviewed literature throughout his career and presents at various Orthopaedic meetings.

Dr. Kaplan has established himself as a leader in sports medicine striving to better serve his professional and weekend warrior athletes both in and out of the operating room.
