Patient Returns To ActivArmor After Traditional Cast Caused Terrible Skin Breakdown

Elizabeth used ActivArmor™ for a wrist fracture in the past, so when she was in a car accident requiring surgical hardware, and had terrible skin breakdown from a traditional cast, she called us again!

“My wrist in ActivArmor was looking perfect and healed very fast. My leg has also plates and pins and is rotting in layers and layers of unnecessary bandages and moisture/bacteria absorbing [material]… It will heal Asap once it gets some air, water, and low impact/no impact exercises in a swimming pool.”

Moisture and bacteria became trapped in the excess bandaging used in Elizabeth’s traditional cast and caused the above skin breakdown. This also causes great risk of bacterial infection while her surgical incisions heal.
